Summer in Salvador Bahia, Brazil

The Summer Intensive Immersion Program takes place in Salvador, Bahia, and is typically available to students after their sophomore year. Over seven weeks — from early June through late July — students attend morning language courses and spend their afternoons engaged in cultural activities and real-world experiences throughout the city. The goal: reach advanced proficiency not just through instruction, but through full immersion in Brazilian life.

So much to do!

Throughout the program, students take part in hands-on workshops in capoeira, dance, percussion, street art, and music — immersing themselves in the living Afro-Brazilian traditions that define Salvador’s culture. Field trips to Cachoeira, Arembepe, and the stunning Chapada Diamantina region (pictured) round out an experience that goes far beyond the classroom.
